This is the way I like to work.
I go to great lengths to make my graphic and website design process as painless as possible while having some fun along the way, after all, life’s too short not to enjoy every moment of it!
I’ll ask the right questions to uncover the Who, Why, What, When, Where and How. It may make you a little uncomfortable, but your answers ensure that I understand the business I’m designing for, the project objectives, deadline, budget and deliverables. It also allows me the opportunity to respond to any of your questions and put your concerns at ease.
This is a critical planning stage because what’s decided and mapped here sets the stage for the entire project. Once I have all the information I need, I’ll create a visual roadmap so we can all get on the same page very quickly about what it is we’re trying to communicate and the best way to structure the information.
Instead of trying to tell you what I intend to create and hoping you understand my jargon, at this point I’ll create a simple mockup to show you how my creative solution will work. With no attention to design at this stage, it won’t look that great, but it gets us close to a functional layout using the information outlined in the roadmap.
Here’s where things get exciting. During the design phase, we get to add colour and customise the look and feel to match your brand identity. At this stage, the whole project will come to life.
As we prepare for your project to take off, we go through a few sessions of proofing, polishing and testing (for websites). Once the design is approved, the final product will be handed over, along with any special instructions or training you may need.
Once you have your final product in hand you may be asking yourself, “now what?” Like anything in life, a little care goes a long way to ensuring good health and longevity. With one of my Website Care Plans, you can rest assured that changes, updates, upgrades, backups and any other maintenance requirements will all be taken care of for you. If you need ongoing graphic design assistance for you print projects, contact me to discuss a retainer solution that meets your needs.
